How does the Links module work and what is it used for?

The Links module creates bulleted lists of links with the ability to open in a new tab and have a description. This module is useful if all you need to create is a list. If you want more control over your links, such as using them in-text or having non-text items as links (such as images), view the tutorial on in-text links through the Text module.

What should I know about the Links module before I start?

While the Links module offers various "Types" of links, they are all stored as "External" links in the database. As such, if you don't want to go through the process of creating a link using the internal page or image or document helpers, you don't have to. Just remember to follow the absolute vs. relative link guide.
